March 2009:
Michelle and I made a decision at about 10:00 on a Friday night to spend the weekend camping in Zion. We packed up the car in the morning and made it down there in time to get a nice camping spot in the park. We watched the sunset with an awesome view from the Canyon Overlook Trail.
The next morning we decided to hike to Observation Point - an 8 mile round trip with impressive views of the canyon. This point overlooks Angel’s Landing, so it is quite high up there. The blue skies quickly gave way to storm clouds and high winds. That is bad enough when your on a cliff ledge, but the worst part was the blowing sand. It was like being at the beach (or Iraq if you’ve been there). All-around great trip!
